To screw, or to be screwed, that was the question

In super-Mario there were special floating blocks that spat out gold coins each times they were punched, though even these blocks dried out after a certain number of digs. Always reminds me of certain aspects of the Indian education system. Each time you pick at it, it throws up some astonishing facts, but after all these years of people poking at this, its run dry. Just another cliché topic of a bored blogger. And currently i would place myself amongst the likes mentioned in my previous line!
So what if its the people who can cram enough bookish knowledge into their tiny minds, who succeed. So what if the precious knowledge you gain now does not show immediate returns in terms of grades. So what if you study your ass off for a test only to get screwed over and over again by the questions that require exact replication of lines from the books. So what…… you are the winner in the “long run”!!

I have got to say, i am not planning to “run” that “long”, so yes, grades right NOW are what my primary concern would be. I am not going to take forward this knowledge and pass it on to future generations, like the ancient scriptures, by word of mouth! Its all there to be learnt! Those who want to screw around with everything are most welcome to do so. But what is up with the concept of handing everyone a common set of courses irrespective of interest and aptitude!?

The government think that the criterion of a Joint Entrance Examination is sufficient to determine the “creamy layer” of a country! I say “down with monarchy!”… both make equal sense in their respective context. While they might have a perfect logic in a limited sample region, in the larger picture, and this age, they are equally absurd!

We have all heard of the butterfly effect. That a butterfly flapping its wings in some corner of the garden can cause hurricanes halfway across the globe. If that were the case with what we all seem to love to talk about, i would see the education system rolling over in its grave at this moment!
But as things stand, nothing has changed after years of beating about the bush by many a bored or frustrated victim of this education fiasco!
